What is Whole Home Performance?
"Whole Home Performance" refers to how well all of your home's systems (furnace, insulation, windows, ventilation, etc.) are working together to help you improve comfort and energy efficiency. We believe that by taking a whole home approach you can help your home operate at peak performance resulting in reduced energy use and improved comfort. This starts with a comprehensive Whole-House Assessment.
Program Eligibility
This program is being offered for a limited time to the first 100 DTE Energy residential service customers who meet ALL the following eligibility criteria:
- Customers must have MichCon as their gas provider AND Detroit Edison as their electric provider.
- The home must be the customer's primary residence and be a single family, detached, site built dwelling.
- Customer of DTE Energy must provide 12 consecutive months of gas and electric utility billing data for the home under consideration prior to the home assessment visit.
- Customer must have a Whole-House Assessment completed by WellHome.
- Customer must enter into a contract with WellHome on or before 11/30/10 for the purchase and installation of a qualified home improvement package. The WellHome team must install the package. How Does The Whole Home Performance Program Work?
- First, eligible customers must have WellHome perform a Whole-House Assessment on their home. The assessment fee is fully refundable if a home improvement package is installed by WellHome.
- A Building Performance Institute-certified WellHome Advisor will come to your home and perform detailed diagnostic tests using state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment including a blower door to detect air leakage, an infrared thermal imaging camera to evaluate insulation effectiveness, and a combustion analyzer to evaluate heating system performance.
- Next, your WellHome Advisor will schedule a follow-up visit with you to present a customized report. The report includes your home's energy modeling analysis along with the rebates and incentives you are eligible to receive. The report also includes a detailed review of photos, test results, and a recommended package of measures to improve your home's comfort and energy efficiency, such as improved insulation, air & duct sealing, new windows and improved heating and cooling systems.
- Finally, the WellHome team will install the qualified home improvement package that you purchase.
Incentives
Eligible customers have the option for low interest unsecured financing1 at 6.99% through Michigan Saves. Rebate amounts, which can cover up to 50% of the cost of the installation package, including labor and material, may be found in the table below.
